Did you buy the 32-count "Blue Spruce"?

Absolutely! It's a gorgeous color for angels!

It is really beautiful fabric. I have some of it in my stash for the "Season of Love" pattern!
I've never done any of the L & L angels with the 32 count Blue Spruce but considering doing one of the L & L angels with it in my post- cataracts surgery year, whenever that is...
Keep us informed with your progress....I'll bet you are super excited to get started!!!

Who doesn't love to start a new cross-stitch project? That first stitch is so exciting! We can only check the mail on Saturdays, so I'll have to wait at least that long.

Simon, I was looking at the close up of this angel. She is a beauty!! I think the light colors against the Blue Spruce Linen will just "pop". Keep us posted.

I decided to stitch this on tumbleweed perma linen instead of blue spruce Belfast linen. I prefer the stiff linen and the color is dark enough to suit the angels. I just started tonight. I did a little swatch to see if I liked two or three strands better and decided to go with three.

Hi Simon, I am finally back from Jury Duty. It's been quite a week!! I also took a different route with an angel. I am going to do "The First Angel of Light" next. I am just not crazy about the Sage Aida and wanted a change from 32 count Natural Belfast linen. So.....I found a color in my stitch shop that is different. They laid out several choices and I liked...28 count Natural Brown Linen by Weichelt. I laid the threads on top of it and it looks good to me! It is also a stiff linen and stays in place nicely. My impression is that this linen will lend an "old" look to this piece when complete. It must be a "phase" I am going through. I get bored repeating fabric colors sometimes. The design area will be a little larger, but that doesn't matter to me.

Oh the natural brown will look nice! I just looked it up. It's nice to see the fabric in person when you get the chance. I used to live near a stitch shop that had tons of fabric. That closed and then I moved. No local stitch shop for me, but I'm very happy to have access to the variety here at ECS.
