DMC Floss replacements
I've been working on this project for some time (nearly finished) - I decided to do the bath is a nice old fashioned DMC green I had. I ran out of floss before I had finished and went to buy another hank; BUT the replacement was nothing like the original. DMC have changed the colours and numbers of a lot of their floss. I eventually found an Anchor one that was a good match. Also with this project I advise working all the clouds in white (before topstitching) - it looks odd with such a big expanse being left unworked.

The green tub will look nice and stand out better from that large clump of cloud near the tub.
A lot of the stitchers have noticed that DMC has changed their colors so the "old" doesn't match up with
the "new". Would love to see the finished product, with the green tub, when you have completed it! :)

Many thanks for your feedback. I'll post a photo once it's all finished and framed!

Hi Pixie,
I'll be ordering this kit soon, I was glas to see that someone was stitching it. I like your decision to change the tub to a green color. Did you use the Aida fabric that came with the kit or change out? I wish this pattern came as a chart instead of a kit. Looking forward to seeing your completed picture.

Hi Redbeesz

Yes I did use the fabric the came with the kit, 14 count white Aida. I can't post a photo yet as it's away being framed. I'll be picking it up on Sunday 13th so will post the finished work then. Please feel free you ask any questions you have on the work.

Hi Pixie,
Thanks, I'm sure I will. I'm ordering the kit today but don't plan on stitching it until next year. I have to complete the one I'm working on first, then I have three others that I have to get done for celebrations. Since I don't always have the time to stitch everyday : ( it takes me awhile to complete a project. Picture if you may, the Cat Lady, now picture the cats as stitching projects...ya that's me! And here I go again ordering more. For future reference you and the others can just refer to me as Red if you like.

Well the embroidery is all finished and framed ready to send off for my friends 60th birthday. I've changed the hair colour to suit my friend who has white hair, cushion now floral, rather than grey and the bath is now green, and the clouds worked in white rather than unworked.

I'm trying to see how to upload the photo?? Help!!!!

When you're nose down working on a project for months on end you begin to think it's not that great and see stitches that aren't as perfect as you would like. I want to thank everyone for their feedback, wonderful praises and encouragement.

PS Will post the same message on my other projects!

Pixie,
I think you will have to start a new chat message to attach your picture for all of us to view. I thought you could attach a picture when replying to someone's post but as far as I can tell you can't. Would be nice if ECS would add this feature. Hope this helps. Anxious to see all your changes to individualized your friends gift. She'll love it! Barb
