A spot in the sun
I've set up my stitching in a nice sunny spot in my new home. There are doors on opposite sides of my dining room and I can open them for a nice breeze. It's 79 today and so comfortable!

Simon, Is this the Angel of Peace?? Looks really nice on the different fabric you chose. I want you to know I am very jealous that you live in such a nice place!!!!!! Sunlight...doors open....nice breeze...79 degrees....it is all too much for me!!! It is 34 degrees here in South Jersey. We are having one of our famous "wintry mixes" (again) and I just can't stay warm!!! Keep us posted with your progress on this picture. I am curious....I think you said you are using three threads?? Does it make the stitches very "tight"? It looks like the stitches lay "normally" on the fabric.

Yes, it's my Peace Angel! I live in the Arizona desert, so this summer it may get up to 115! You won't be jealous then!

Simon..I wanted to make sure you saw my additional question about how many threads you use....thanks

I didn't see your extra question! I am using three strands. I worked out side by side samples of two threads and three threads. I really wanted to like two stands, but I just couldn't! There is very good coverage with three and the stitches don't seem to be crowded. The last angel I did, Angel of Grace, was on blue spruce and I also used three strands.

Thanks so much....I am going to try the same thing on my next project which will be The First Angel of Light and see how it goes. I love to learn!!

Shameless bragging, jsimon! :) But I know you can't help it in glorious weather! Everything seems easier in exceptional weather! :)

Someone sent our South Carolina heat to some other state. We had a wind chill factor of 19 degrees the other day and a high of 43 degrees! No snow, no ice and -of course- no salt for the roads, only on the dinner table. If it snows they put sand down on the streets....

I lived in the Phoenix area for 50+ years... never a shortage of natural light, even with shade screens on the house. Now, I live in No. Colorado. Usually it's bright enough for me, but the sun goes down so early in the winter and I need a light, but my husband won't let me have it on because of the glare on the TV. Phooey.

Maybe you could shift the position of the TV to avoid the glare? I have no idea, lol. Mine used to complain that the light was too bright and hurt his eyes. I experimented with different lights till I found one that worked for both of us. One that I tried was an LED, which was pretty pricey, and it wasn't the one I stuck with!

I've had way too much pain sitting in the sunny spot. I've moved back into my recliner. But there is a ceiling fan in here already, so that's a plus. It's so much more comfortable, but I really wanted to sit at the dining table.
