Size of finished piece
This calls for 18 count Aida but does not give the stitch count of project. Would like to know this info so I can figure how big this piece would be done on 14 count Aida. Thanks.

Just did some calculations - can someone tell me if I am on the right track. I have it figured that using 14 count Aida would make the finished piece approx. 11.5 x 16. Is that close?

I ran this through a fabric calculator that I keep on my computer task bar and I came out with 12 /7/8 x 10 7/8.

Of course you need to add at least 2 inches per side for framing. But not a bad size at all.

MY THEORY -- This item is stitched on 18 ct fabric . Stitched size is 10 x 14 inches. That makes 180 x 252 stitches. (10 x 18 = 180 stitches TIMES 14 x 18 = 252 stitches)

Next step: 180 divided by 14 = 12.8 and 252 divided by 14 = 18. The finished area on 14 ct fabric would be 12.8 x 18 inches. I always round up. You would need fabric that measures 19 x 24 inches.

Using a small count would mean the picture will be larger. More than likely the floss included in this kit would not be enough to finish the project. I would recommend that you use a conversion chart and purchase all new flosses at the same time.

Thanks for the help - think it is a go - looking forward to doing it.

I calculated and it's 180 x 252 stitches, 10 x 14 finished and 16 x 20 size fabric to frame it. Hope this helps!
