Fabric color.
The picture shows on black. But the description says white Aida. Has anyone else stitched this pattern. If so what color fabric did you use?

I haven't stitched this pattern, but went to a couple of websites and they list the fabric used as 14 Ct. black Aida fabric. If I was doing it that is what I would use also. No sense in having to do a lot of background stitching if you don't have to. Hope this helps. Beautiful pattern.

Hello,

Thank you for letting us know about this. I double checked and it is supposed to be on Black Aida. Our website will default to 14ct. White Aida unless we go in and change it so I am guessing no one changed it?! Lol! I have made the correction so it should now should the 14ct. Black Aida. Thank you again for letting us know about this :)

Does one have to worry about the black Ada showing throughout the yellow flowers? Or do things like that resolve themselves after the piece is pressed and the stitches flattened slightly? I am wondering because I have a Fractal to stitch that is bright shades on a black background and don't want the black to 'darken' the brighter colours.

Stitching on Aida dark fabric:

Using 3 strands of floss that have been separated into single strands and then recombined into the 3 strands that you need for stitching should take care of this.

I know any people don't bother doing this, but it does give better coverage, as does using 3 strands vs 2 strands on 14 count Aida.

Happy Stitching!

p.s. Finally gave in and purchased an inexpensive lighted magnifier and Mag Eyes to help with these projects. They work a treat in letting me stitch again on 32 and 36 count linen too. Yay!

I stitched a Mar-bek Angel design on black fabric. The Angel had yellow to pale yellow hair and I didn't get any black "see thru" with the different yellows in the pattern.
I do agree that by separating the 2 or 3 strands of floss and putting them back together before stitching does help with coverage.
