Fashion Girl Kit
I would really love to make this for my granddaughter, but it's just too small. Can you please asssist me in finding a similar but bigger kit or, how can I get this one in a bigger dimension.

thank you,

You could do it on 11 count or even 8 count aida cloth to make it bigger. However, you may lose some of the details. If it is to be framed, I assure you that I have stitched 5x7 and 8x10 pieces that my kids just loved. If framed, you need to add six inches to the height and width (3" to each side) for the framer to use. You would need more floss to make it bigger, too.

Hello,

You can always switch out the fabrics like Su Pitt suggested and use your choice of fabric when it comes to count and color. I am not sure if we have something similar to this in bigger size but I just typed the word "fashion girl" in our Search box and about 5 pages of items came up. There might be something listed there that would work for you?

Another suggestion is to contact RTO, the manufacturer of this kit, and see if they have it available in a different size or something similar? We do not buy kits directly from the manufacturer, we go through a distributor so we can only purchase what they have available. A lot of the time, the actual manufacturers have different sizes of their kits, so you can always check with them as well :) Hope this helps!

I just came across some pieces of Jobelan 20 in my stash and was wondering how it would look stitched over 2 (= 10 stitches per inch). It's still evenweave essentially and looks finer than Aida with its multiple threads per stitch block.

I think it's still available online and might even come in colors. As my eyes get older, I find myself changing some of my stitching habits. I used to really love the look of linen 32 or 36 over 2, but now ever that seems too small when finished stitching.

So I'm exploring different fabrics. I've got a couple of pieces of Lugana 25. It's evenweave stitches here have recommended it. If you stitched over 2, that will make your piece larger at only 12.5 stitches per inch instead of 14. How much larger of course depends on the stitch count.

That's where the online fabric calculators come in really handy.

Happy Stitching!
