Hello Ivy, I just received this pattern from ECS recently! This does call for a little backstitching...but not much. There is backstitching for the harp she is holding in her hands. A tiny bit for her eyelid and eyebrow....and around the edge of her face to define it. That really isn't much at all. I have completed projects with WAY more backstitching than this! Go for it! It is a beautiful pattern.

Even looking at the larger view, I've never noticed she is holding a harp!. Makes me wonder what I have been missing looking at the other angels. I recently purchased the Angel of Mercy and the Angel of Love which will be my first Lavender & Lace. Can't wait to get started.
