strange brand of Aida cloth
Hello, I have a question ,although it does not concern the Migrant Mother design, which I will order later on. I am currently looking at a 14count Aida offered on ECS with the brand name of MCG for another project . I have never heard of that brand and would appreciate some feedback as to the quality of this product by folks who have used it. I would like to make a large project with it but want to be sure it is a good quality item. Thanks so much .Norma

I've never heard of it, but you may try www.silkweaverfabrics.com They carry many cross-stitch fabrics and can give really good advice on alternatives. I've never been disappointed.

I have worked with MSG brand fourteen count aida cloth and I find no difference from it and other makes of the aida. It's safe to buy and use. Enjoy.

I was a member of an international cross stitch exchange group many years ago and the ONLY item that we were not allowed to exchange was MCG fabric.

I had tried stitching on 28 ct evenweave over 2 and was not impressed with the fabric being even. I won't buy it again even though it is readily available at JoAnns where I can use a coupon.

What's wrong with it? Is it inferior quality? Does it shrink when being washed? That would be awful after one does a huge project, washes it and all the stitches pucker. I am not an Aida fan and don't use it but am always eager to learn. Even though I forget. :(
