Thread, fabric and instructions
I just received the pattern for your Dragonfly Garden Sampler cross stitch. I was confused as to the "fabric" selections and opted out of that. The "thread" isn't shown in DMC colors so I can't even go to Hobby Lobby and get thread. I am going to order the thread from the website unless you can give me DMC floss so I'm sure to get the correct colors. Do I stitch with two strands on everything except for the dragonfly? How big is the stitched area? Is it 10.8" x 10.8"? I love the pattern but the instructions are a bit confusing.

Hello,

We aren't the designers or manufacturer of this design and without having a copy of the instructions in front of me, it's kind of hard to answer any questions about the design but I will try to my best. The deigner is the one who chooses whether or not they want to put DMC conversions in their charts. We don't have any control over that. The supply list we have listed is what's listed on the designer's website for the design. She used Gentle Art Threads. Weeks Dye Works, Cresent Colours and Glissen Gloss threads and there are conversions charts available online at various websites that you can use to get DMC colors. Or you can always try to contact the Lindsay Lane Designs to see if they know the conversions for this design. The fabric for this design is not listed for purchase on our website because we do not sell at 40ct. Linen. The designer used a 40ct. Pear Linen by Lakeside Linens so you can choose to use that or you can use something different. It's completely up to you :)

If you have any questions regarding the detail of the instructions or the sizing of the pattern, I would contact Lindsay Lane Designs. That would be the first place I would start. Here is the link to their website:

It's a blog but you should be able to contact her on that and ask any questions you have regarding her instructions for this design.

Would you forward this Chit Chat to Meg. I can't get it to work.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

Jen, I hope that you have good eyesight because 40 ct linen is awful small. I am almost willing to bet that it's done with one strand of floss. The specialty flosses are a bit more expensive but make the design look so beautiful. Like Kristi said, you can always convert to DMC, especially if you already have DMC floss. It would save a good amount of money.
