size of count
I have been looking at 14ct kits for my sister. She has problems working with the smaller "openings".
Is 14ct easier to work with than say, 16ct?

16 count would be a little smaller than 14 ct. The count is referring to the number of stitches per inch. Hope this helps.

Hello,

The smaller the number of the count of fabric means the hole will be larger. For example, a 16ct. fabric will have a smaller hole than a 14ct. fabric (higher number = smaller hole or smaller number - larger hole) But a 6ct. fabric will have a much larger hole than the 14ct. fabric. 14 count fabric is the pretty much the standard for counted cross stitch but people do prefer to use smaller count fabrics because the holes are larger and easier for them to see. Hope this information helps :)
