Question
Does anyone know if this pattern is available anywhere as "just" the pattern? I'm really bad at using too much floss and having to request more. The last time I requested extra floss from another company, I was admonished that they although they would honor my request this time, in the future my requests would be refused. I'd rather buy my own floss and not have to worry about conserving it! I've done a fairly extensive search on my own, but haven't found a pattern only purchase.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Kate, To my knowledge Dimensions does not sell their patterns individually. Many years ago, I had an experience wherein I also ran out of thread, wrote to them, and they sent me a VERY small amount which was unbelievable! I haven't bought one of their kits since....because I find patterns that use DMC thread. You can buy as much, as often as you want without any reprimands!! If I were you, I would look for a similar pattern (I would begin searching on this website) that uses only DMC. Your mind will be at rest!! (I not an ECS employee...only a long time Stitcher.)

hi, try patternsonline.com for downloadable patterns. put in cabins or cabins with boats. see if anything looks good to you. also do the same on this website.

Hi Kate,
Jerseycrafter is absolutely correct! You are NOT ALONE regarding many Dimensions "kits" being short on floss. Like Jerseycrafter, I too stopped buying their kits because I came up short on enough floss to complete the project. And like Jersey, I find patterns that I like and use DMC floss for the pattern.
What you have told us is NOT new since there have been a number of stitchers that state they have had to contact Dimensions because they were short floss. You would think that with enough requests from stitchers, Dimension's Customer Service would make it one of the priorities to discuss at their meetings. I personally have never heard of Dimensions saying that to a stitcher about refusing to provide anymore floss if asked again by the same stitcher! Maybe it's a new policy by Dimensions; I don't know. BUT I do know that saying that is NOT BEING VERY NICE to a customer who is spending hard-earned bucks to buy their cross stitch products.

If you really like this pattern, then I would suggest getting it. I know you will pay more because it is a kit, but you can get the pattern, convert the thread to DMC and purchase the DMC floss that you need. There are several places to go to get the conversion chart. That way you get the pattern you want and can use as much thread as you like. :)
