Hi tjptnews!
Welcome to the "chat" messageboard. It's always fun to meet a person new to counted cross stitch.
Don't be afraid to ask questions here or let us know if you get stuck on something when doing your project. There are a LOT of experienced counted cross stitchers on this "Chat" messageboard that are quite willing to help answer your questions!. Oh, and other people on this messageboard can see your dialog with any of us... and our dialogs with each other......Everything Cross Stitch has this wonderful Chat messageboard and so we do stay within the rules of communicating appropriately and such, but if you read our chats...LOL....we do act silly at times and talk about other things as well, ie. weather, cross stitch projects we're having trouble with,
Have FUN and ENJOY doing your project. :)

I am so excited for you..I remember my first cross stitch project. There are some experts on this site and as many years as I have been cross stitching I still go to this site for help or suggestions. They love to share and don't hesitate if you find yourself in a bind or just want to share. Happy stitching..

It is a public forum and ECS has designated that we may discuss ANYTHING that might be on our collective minds--subject matter is diverse and you may receive lots of responses that aren't addressed to you or even, about you! :) doesn't mean we aren't interested in you or your question...some of us get side-tracked. :) WELCOME!! Ask your questions...expect at least one silly answer. :) and that does not mean your questions were silly...No such thing...but some of us just can't resist the chance to clown around. :)

Hello and Welcome to the Everything Cross Stitch chat.

If you have specific questions to a particular item you should contact Customer Service.

This Chat is the place to be if you have generic questions -- level of difficulty; should I switch the color (e.g. red to blue); use 14 vs 32 ct fabric.

There are no rules or regulations when it comes to cross stitch. You can follow the directions exactly or you can make small change to make your project unique. If I am stitching a flower that calls for purple flosses you can switch to red. If you are stitching a boy with a blue shirt you can make the shirt orange, etc. If you are have a pattern suggesting 18 ct aida and you want the finished product to be a little larger yo can use 14 ct aid.

Most important you must have a sense of humor to participate on this ChitChat. There is no such thing as a silly or stupid question. However, sometimes there are silly, stupid or sarcastic answers. There are no mean-spirited members of this group. I, for one, have been known to seem a little sarcastic.

Scroll back a few pages and get acquainted with some of the regular posters.

Regarding your brother -- He won't see your posting unless he is a member of this Chat. (that is me being a little silly, LOL)

Once again, members of this chat are not employees of ECS. We like to share ideas and opinions with each other.

Hope to hear from you soon.
