Making the most!
Loving my time back in Canada- but too much going on for cross stitch! Have reverted to ( gasp) knitting dishcloths!!! Love to keep my connection to this chat line and FYI need to make my third trip across the border to pick up my last ECS order before returning to the UK. I figure 3-5 years of projects will be safely tucked in my suitcase. Now only hope the airline doesn't lose it😬

Oh man, if I had a bunch of kits in my luggage and it got lost I would be breathing FIRE!

Craig always laughs when I order a new kit, always asking me 'what about those others in the closet?' Well I'm going to do those! I'm working on it! But one does have to stock up just in case of an emergency like yours, stuff like being unable to pick up new patterns where one is currently living, unable to order anything due to the internet being down, maybe a meteor strike will have us isolated from the general populace and I need something to do! Heck, what if zombies attack the stores!

We just gotta be prepared! ;) Enjoy your stitching!

murillome, glad to know that you are having fun in Canada. How is your husband?

I have never heard of knitted dishcloths. I had to crochet pot holders as a kid! Whew!

What type of material do you use - cotton? I was a huge knitter for a number of years but don't have much interest any longer. I can't do much without feeling that I am on a production line. DD is always checking up on me. She tasked me to crochet a baby blanket for a friend's granddaughter. The yarn I bought was too thin but I made the best of it. I had to go back and buy one more skein. When I had finished it, I noticed that the color was different. I was so angry. It's noticeable. My granddaughter wants it. But my point is that they should produce consistent products. This stuff was expensive and must, obviously, have dye lots although I didn't see anything on the label to that effect. I bought the synthetic stuff because most people don't want to fool with having to wash real wool and we all know how babies are. Stuff has to be washed daily. So now I have to go back to the drawing board. Maybe I'll have DD do an internet search for a suitable product.

Oh, I use Handiwipes, I can wash or throw them out. LOL

Enjoy your stay and have safe trip back to England. Hopefully, it'll be less stressful than the one over.

DancyFrog - my husband never says anything about the patterns etc. that I buy but my daughter always tells me I won't live long enough to finish what I have so why do I buy more. I tell her there may come a time I can't afford the patterns/fabric etc - the internet may die out (shudder) or the cross stitch websites may all shut down (double shudder). Sounds plausible and works for me. We stitchers do what we gotta do.

Hi ladies! Thanks for all the positive comments! DH going well- thanks for asking. Texas Stitcher, the dishcloths are in cotton, loads of patterns but mine starts corner to corner, increasing to 47 st then decreasing back to two. Love them and now can't use anything else. Would be happy to post the easy pattern or e-mail. Time has passed much to guickly- will soon have the task of getting all my goodies in the suitcase! ( will have to use DH's extra space)πŸ˜€
