You don't have to buy the thread or fabric online. I believe when you click on the product, a list of the threads you will need is produced and you can check off the ones you want to purchase (IF you want to purchase them via the website). If you don't want to, you don't have to check any of the floss off. The pattern does come with a list of the thread you will need and it will say what type fabric the pattern was stitched on, but that is just a suggestion. So in short, no you don't have to buy the thread or fabric online if you don't want to. Hope this helps! Happy stitching!

Personally, I would hesitate to buy thread/product on line. Take it to a reputable store............ preferably a specialty shop, where you can buy specialty fabrics, and threads. You will be so glad you did !!! They will also help you customize your color choices......... just cause it is listed, doesn't mean you have to do it they way the pattern says

You can buy the thread and fabric from your local needlework store where they can help with any questions in person.
