Why do U have to change of the color of the fabric? The designer knew what she was doing. She had learned and pay tuition and spend years to know how to design it. If I was you I would have let it be as I order it. Enjoy.

MISS C -- WHO MADE YOU THE CROSS STITCH POLICE?

If the stitcher wants to stitch on black fabric that is what she should do. The designer lists "suggested" fabrics and colors. There is no law that any pattern has to be followed 100%.

Fabrics and colors can be changed. I frequently make changes to my stitching. If I don't like the purple flowers I make them red. I recently stitched a blue elephant and once I stitched a purple cow.

babland -- If you want to stitch this on black fabric than that is what you should do. This is an Artecy pattern. Contact the designer at artecy.com. She might give you some advice on changing some of the flosses if you choose to stitch on dark fabric.

MISS C IS NOT AN EMPLOYEE OF EVERYTHING CROSS STITCH and neither am I.

This Chat is sponsored by ECS for stitchers. Most of us like to help others by sharing ideas and opinions.

Welcome to the ECS chat. I am sure that your question and Miss C's answer will generate a lot of opinions.

Thank you Nancye. Way to go. New posters don't realize Miss C is just a rude person.

SUNSHINE -- I honestly don't think that Miss C really intends to be rude. She is just in a hurry to "be helpful" and doesn't always get her facts straight. Also, sometimes, some of us (especially me) can be a little sarcastic and hurt someone's feelings. However, in this case, her answer was definitely inappropriate. I was tempted to ignore it but I just couldn't help myself. If I had been that poster I would have definitely and immediately gone to a different site.

NOTE TO ECS: Do something to make it obvious that questions regarding specific products should contact customer service. Then make a link to use the ChitChat. This would avoid a lot of
mis-communications and hurt feelings.

Miss C., I have to agree with Nancye. Cross stitching is supposed to be fun and we can choose the colors that appeal to us or fit our décor. Although, I have to say that in some instances it is best to stick with the recommended colors. This motif, however, looks great on either fabric color.

It's a beautiful design and beautifully stitched as are all Artecy pieces.

But, Nancye...I'm the nosey type! If all specific item requests go through customer service, we won't get to see the lovely responses from Artecy! I rather like "listening in" on some of these private conversations...rude, or not...it's just opinions...

In my opinion, this would really 'POP' on black fabric!! Go for it, then post a picture!

Wow - had no idea my request would generate so much "chatter". I appreciate all the comments. I have cross stitched several designs on black vs. white and found that they almost come "alive" when done on black fabric. I had a particular print to pair this Calla Lily with that has a black background which is why I had hoped to see it on black to make sure the green leaves didn't blend in too much. I'm working on the Madonna and Child at the moment, so it will be awhile before I could begin this one, but I will definitely put it in my To Do List. Thank you all.
