This is a counted cross stitch pattern not a kit. It is a very pretty pattern and would take a lot of time to stitch it. what I would worry about is the constant washing of the baby blanket. This would not be good for the picture to have it washed as many times as you would wash a baby blanket.

If I were doing it I would stitch it as a framed picture to hang in the baby's room to watch over him or her.
