using laguna cloth
I just purchased 25 ct laguna cloth for my cross stitch project, but it looks overwhelming. I don't know how many holes to cover for each stitch.

Generally you will go over 2 threads. Once you do it a while you will become very proficient.

I thought most projects on 25 ct carried instructions from the designers for over one...

Is it just Heaven and Earth designs that are done over 1?

Depends how big you want your project to be or what the pattern calls for. 25 ct over 2 gives you a 121/2 ct which makes a much larger finished product. I have done some HAED 1over1 & quite enjoyed it (with a strong magnifier of course!!!) What does your pattern call for?

I am working Viktoriya on 25 Laguna one thread over one Laguna thread..if I worked over two Laguna threads . the picture would be enormous. What would over two be like a eleven Aida? We have a lot of expert Stitchers in this site that will be able to advise you. You wouldn' want to run out of fabric before you finished. Good luck..

I use 25 ct all the time. It takes a little bit of patience, as I stitched on 14 ct aida previously.

Recently I stitched The Tea Room and Miss Peepers on 25 ct lugana. Turned out lovely LOL LOL

Bye for now and good luck with everything

I agree, over one. If you go over two, the piece would be huge.
Example:

If you project stitch count is 150 x 200, when stitched over one, the finished piece would measure 4 x 8 inches. The same project over two would measure 12.5 x 16.6 inches

If you're stitching "over one", are you using one strand, or two? Over two, one strand , or two? :)

Yeah, I know it's an old question. Cut me a break, will ha'? I'm old...I forget. :)

VCESS, the piece I'm working on this thread now, is on Black Lugana, over one. I'm using two strands of floss.
I believe if you want to go over two, I would use three strands, as I do, if working on 14 ct. Fabric. I guess it's only a matter of preference. (I have done the other pieces on 25 ct, & have always used two strands)
