Floss
What I would like to know is when you purchase a chart with all the items you need to stitch it, do they give you enough floss to complete it ?
Thanks.

Carguy, this is a pattern not a kit. You would purchase pattern, fabric, floss, needles, etc separately. A much better deal in my opinion. People have voiced different experiences about kit. Some run out of floss and have to contact the companies in the hopes of getting more and others have plenty to finish their projects. It all depends on the stitcher I suppose. If you make mistakes and have to do a lot of frogging then you can imagine the outcome. Some are very frugal with their floss, others aren't. If you are a beginner you might want to avoid kits unless they are very small. Good luck.

"A chart" is just the pattern with the flosses listed and suggested fabrics. Only kits come with the fabric, floss, and a needle. :)

VCESS, so good to hear from you. What are you doing up so early?

Did you hear the news about the Niche? Gotta run, Olivia has laptop issues. She is calling the wrong person.

Great to hear from you.

Hello carguy,

We sell many different products on our website and the best way to tell what a certain product is, is to look at the “Product Type” information that is located to the right of the picture of the product on our website. Below are the categories and an explanation about them.

Product Type: Cross Stitch Patterns - means it's just a counted cross stitch design and the supplies will have to be purchased separately for it. Sometimes, the supplies are listed in the Supply list right underneath the picture of the pattern. So, if you choose, you can purchase the floss and the fabric for the design all at the same time. Or you can purchase just the floss colors that you need based on your stash at home. If you don't see a list of supplies beneath the picture and would like to, just shoot us an email or a post on here and I will get the supplies posted within the business day :)

Product Type: Cross Stitch Kit - means it's a counted cross stitch kit that comes with everything you will need to stitch that design. The name of the manufacturer for the kit will be given as well, such as Dimensions, Janlynn and Riolis.

Product Type: Stamped Cross Stitch Kit - means it's a stamped cross stitch kit and the fabric has the design already stamped on it. The floss will also be included since it’s a kit.

Product Type: Stamped Stitchable - means it's an item where the fabric has the design stamped on it but the supplies such as the floss and needles, etc...Will have to be purchased separately. This item isn’t a kit and you are just purchasing the fabric that has the design stamped onto it.

Product Type: Stitchable Items – means that these are items that you can actually stitch on. So these items will consist of bibs, towels, bookmarks, tote bags, etc… Designs and floss will have to be purchased separately for these.

Hope this information helps :) Thanks so much!

Tex, Card rehab this morning and saying goodbye to "stuff". What about the Niche? Yikes! Skyping to a wrong number...Whata hoot! :)

Oh, okay. Things didn't work out with the day care facility - so....... DH has a pulmonologist's appt on Thursday then it's off to Morad. I look like hell. Had to go to the dentist yesterday and felt so embarrassed. I must have at least one cm of new growth. I plan to say goodbye to a lot of stuff myself. Mostly old clothes. DD was kind enough to take 5 gently used purses off my hands.

The Niche needs investors. Are you game. Sounds complicated, I am not in.

Oh, golly. Noooo, I have enough on my plate right now. Downsizing...is it wrong to view your DIL as a little like a vulture? Just a little hint around the grasping claws? She actually went through a box I had for DD...made me very uncomfortable and majorly ticked off DD...kind of quieted down the DS, too. Wasn't prepared for dramas. I don't have that kind of "stuff"! :)

VCESS, sorry to hear that. Intrusion or violation of privacy of any kind ticks me off. I often wonder about what goes on in people's heads when they ask totally personal questions. We were at ChickFilA yesterday with our granddaughter and some crazy woman at the next table began a conversation, she actually worked her way around to asking if DH and I still had marital relations! I was so stunned that I couldn't come up with a reply and that does not happen often. First of all why would one care and then how could one possess the nerve to ask. I feel like stitching a little sign that says "mind your own business" and present her with it in the event that I ever run into her again. Which I hope will not happen, although I am ready for her now.
I-L's are just complicated, period. I could write a book about my DIL's.

Thanks to all of you kind folks that replied. I know this is not a kit, but I wanted to know if I ordered the pattern and the supplies that they recommend to stitch the pattern. Do they supply you with enough floss to stitch the whole pattern or will you have to buy more.
I've been stitching since 1996. My first project was the Needle Treasures Historic Lighthouses kit. A woman I used to work with taught me how to cross stitch. She was an excellent teacher. I in turn taught my Mom how to do it.
Unfortunately my Mom is now 82 and can no longer do it because of eyesight problems.

Thanks, Craig
