Perforated paper pattern
What do you mean by Perforated paper? Is this Item, Festive Pine, not on fabric?

Perforated paper looks like Aida but it is truly paper. You stitch just like you would with Aida, just be careful to not pull extra hard and tear it. I have done a couple of these projects but I switched the paper out with Aida or linen that was the same color as the paper.

I tried it once. didn't like it. It is useful for stitching something to be used as a greeting card

I don't think that I would like stitching on paper. I did waste canvas once - what a nightmare.

That's a lot of work for greeting cards. :) I wonder how the paper holds up over the years?

It is a light card stock paper, not a thin sheet like writing paper. Victorian era embroidery used lots of perforated paper instead of fabric. Lots of examples still around.

These ornaments stitch up fast and easy and look great!

But beware...they are addicting!

I did the same thing, switched out the paper that comes with the kit because I don't trust how long the paper will last. If I'm not mistaken the perforated paper that comes with the kit is a 14-count; I switched it out to a 28-count fabric- of the same color as the perforated paper- because I trust the fabric to last longer and I wanted a finer-looking material for the background.

This is really a beautiful pattern.

I've used perforated paper for Christmas cards, bookmarks and ornaments. It's heavy enough that it holds up really well. I'm working of snowmen ornaments right now. Just be sure to pick patterns that don't have 1/4 stitches, that doesn't work at all.

LOL! No, I don't think it would!

I've done several small pieces...My biggest complaint was the color of the paper...cardboard brown! Imagine my surprise when I found that they have LOTS of colors!

At first, it was clumsy--for me--but I quickly the feel for it and the small stuff went very quickly. The DD used up all my metallic paper last Chrismas making angels for her Angel's stocking...Thanks for the reminder...she'll be nosing through my stash soon.... :)
