1/4 stitches
I'm just getting back to doing cross stitch. I quit because so many patterns had so many quarter stitches. I don't even like half stitches very much. I like the reviews that warn of this! So, I won't be ordering this pattern.

Have you tried stitching on Lugana? it is so much easier to sew those 1/2 & 1/4 stitches. I agree 1/4 stitches are too much, but 1/2 aren't too bad. Try s different cloth and see how you like it.

I don't like 1/4 or 1/2 stitches either. Some companies (e.g. Artecy) specify that they have full stitches only. Others (Imaginating) have lots of fractional stitches.

If the information isn't listed you can always post a question on this here. One of the frequent posters may have stitched the pattern you are interested in. This Chat is provided by Everything Cross Stitch for stitchers from all over the country, and some foreign countries, to share ideas and give helpful ideas. Regular posters on this board ARE NOT employees of ECS.

If you have questions regarding a specific pattern you can contact Customer Service. They are very very helpful.

And Artecy is on sale this month!!! :) They have lots of gorgeous flowers-- no 1/4 or 1/2 stitches... :)

Thank you for telling me about them. I did order a chart. It has some 1/4 stitches that I plan to skip. At least they warned me.

I have a lot of fabric left from before, but I hope I'll remember about lugana when I'm ready to do something more complicated.

I love them all, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, full and backstitching. What I love most is placing that first stitch and then slowly seeing the project come to life. 1/4 stitches are so easy to do and add so much to the motif. However, if you really hate to do them then I would take VCESS's advice and go with Artecy patterns.
