Aida cloth count
This pattern calls for 18 count Aida cloth. I'd prefer to use 14 or 16 count. Will this picture still turn out as well if I don't use 18 count or will it look much prettier using 18 count?

jrbenfam...First of all, this is such a nice design. All of us stitchers sometimes change the size of a fabric if we wish to do so. As we say: "There are no cross stitch police!". On 18 count the finished design size is 8.8" x 10.8". I did use the fabric calculator to our left here (Under Cross Stitch fabric) and see that on 14 count the design would be 11.3" x 13.9" and on 16 count it would be 9.9" x 12.1". So this will just be your personal choice. The project itself will look just fine...no matter what size Aida you use. If I change fabric size, I actually get out a ruler and look at how big the design area will actually be. That gives me a better "perspective" and often helps me decide what to do. Good luck!

I don't work for ECS...I am just a long time Stitcher.

Thank you very much for your input. I think I'm going to do this for my son.
