which needles to get
Hello, I was wondering which brand of needles would be good to use when doing the loop method. Currently using bohin needle, which is "suppose" to be blunt like it says on the package, but it was sharp enough that i just pricked myself a few mins ago where there was a tiny drop of blood. Seriously hope I didnt bleed on my cross stitch lol.

You'll find them right here on ECS. They are called tapestry needles. I like John James and Anchor gold plated needles. They will prick the skin if you have an unfortunate situation but are blunt needles and nowhere as "dangerous" as sharp needles. Just click on "Cross Stitch Supplies" to the right and it will take you to the needles.
Did you call the paramedics? :)

Ah thanks, I have some older needles that are blunt, but those needles are too big plus they dont make me bleed, but for some reason the bohin was sharper than my other needles. I'll have a look at john james, heard some good things about it, but hope the eye is big enough for me to do the loop method without fraying the thread too much (need size 26).

The eye is big enough. I only do loop method, that is whenever possible. I have Bohins but haven't really tried them yet. I did one small test stitch but went back to the John James. I don't like to change up in the middle of a project. I have enough problems trying to keep uniformity of stitches as it is. :)

Try the John James and Anchor, either are a great product and one thing is for sure you are not out of a lot of money.

Lol, that's true, I dont like to switch needles in a middle of a project too. I also am railroading as well so im trying to keep my stitches as uniform as well. So I'll try the john james and anchor too when I'm done my current project. Thanks for the help :)

Good luck. I've been using the same needle for three projects. They all turned out well and I am almost superstitious now (only kidding) about using a new one.
Railroading is a great aid. I've been doing it for so long now that is has become automatic.
