You can sew them together and usually a piece of fabric goes in between to help space out the squares. I believe there is more information on how to do this on Jack Dempsey's website. You can always check there to see what they suggest:

I am a quilter and I would suggest putting sashing around each block using 100% cotton fabric of a rose color like in your block. Use the same fabric for the binding and it will be beautiful. Depending on the use of your quilt pick the correct batting loft. On the back I would use the same fabric that you use for the sashing and binding.

What is your plan for doing the quilting? I always like to hear how others do their quilting of blocks.

The quilt block is beautiful and I know you will do a great job finishing it off.
