I am a quilter and I have made several cross stitch quilts. I have quilted full size quilts on my home machine too. If you want to, you can use the quilt-as-you-go method; quilt each block with batting and backing seperately, then put all the newly quilted blocks together. There are many quilting books explaining more in depth out there. Try checking out a few quilt books from your local library. Just my opinion:-)
