CROSS STITCH MISSION RESCUE CHAPTER 2
The first thread was getting too long so I am starting a new one.

Sorting all that stuff has been very labor intensive. I have probably spent at least 80 hours in the past week working on this challenge. There all sorts of piles of stuff around the house at the moment. I am surprised that my husband has been patient with this process.

I have started a spreadsheet listing the patterns and books. Haven't started with the kits and magazines. Anyone looking for something specific please send me your email.

zzstarz21 - you asked about butterflies, fairies, Halloween and Christmas. I have several of each and some nice Christmas books.

Darcy -- I have a great pattern that you might be interested in.

I have been so busy trying to get organized that I haven't had a chance to stitch in three days!

Nancye, If you find a magazine from the 80's...I think Leisure Arts or For the Love of Cross Stitch...it had 4 different international Santas on a darker background...like Fiddlers Cloth. Looking for it for my DD...it was my second "big" project and I gave it to my mother...DD has treasured it all these years and looked for it when my mom passed away, but it had disappeared. DD was reminiscing about Granny the other night and told of searching for the framed piece, but all of the Christmas decorations were gone...You know how people can be when there is a death. Anyway, if you should stumble on something like it, I would appreciate your thinking of me. Of course I will pay for any mailer and postage or perhaps we could work a trade? Could I perhaps donate a project to your charity? I know it's a long-shot, but I thought, maybe... :)

CROSS STITCH RESCUE MISSION UPDATE!

This sorting and organizing project is taking over my life. First I sorted and disposed of stuff I didn't want. Then I sorted the cross stitch from other crafts. I was able to give a box of quilting magazines to a local Quilting Guild. I know those patterns will have a good home.

Then I started sorting cross stich patterns by subject (e.g. baby, sports, flowers, etc.) Well that was okay. Then, I decided to make up a spreadsheet so that I would have a list of patterns to share with all of you.

So, after I entered most of the patterns, I decided to alphabetize the worksheet. Now, I am have a list of the patterns by name! However, I didn't use a category column so now I will start resorting the patterns by the order they are on the spread sheet!!!!

OY VEY -- how did I get myself into this mess?!?! AND I DO MEAN MESS!!

Oy vey, is right, Nancye, I'm getting a headache just reading your post! Do it by designer, alphabetically.

If someone is looking for Lavender and Lace, all you have to do is go to the Ls, etc. I had no idea that you also have quilting patterns. So much to do, so little time.

Speaking of time, gotta run.

Good luck. Can't DH help?
