Problem with kit
I've run into a problem. The cross stitch kit I am working on has 2 symbols for the same color. Wondering if 1 is half stitch

If the symbol list is in colour you may find it uses the same symbol but in different colours for different colour threads i.e" J" in yellow will be a different thread colour than" J "in blue &/or "J "in pink etc. Dimensions kits do this often. I don't think there's too many kits with colour symbol charts anymore. Hope this helps.

Leas, it's difficult to render an opinion without seeing the pattern. My guess would be that one is a full stitch and the other a 1/2 stitch. Half stitch meaning that you do not do the cover stitch.

At first I thought blended floss but read your second post and came up with full and half stitch. Half stitches are often used to fill in areas such as floor, snow, sky, water, etc.

Another option to consider, since it is a kit, is there a phone number on the packaging the kit came in where you can call and ask them if there has been a mistake in the directions? Look for a manufacturer's phone number and have your kit information ready and maybe there can help advise you.
Hope this helps!

That's what I finally decided and what I will do. However there is reference to half stitches in the directions, but it's my pic so it'll be my way. Thanks for the input.
