Missing directions?
I bought the ArtVentures Superstition Mountains cross stitch kit online. The floss is separated into 4 bags, each bag has a colored dot, and the directions give no help on what floss is what color code.
I feel like my only option is to go to a craft store and look up each and every color .
Anyone else had experience with Art Ventures kits? Is this normal or am I missing some directions?

do you mean the color is not matched to the symbols on the pattern? If you need the colors, they are all on a supply list on this website under the Superstition mountain pattern for sale. By the way, it is a gorgeous pattern.

The Superstitious Mountains! I didn't know there was a pattern for that! I remember dr==riding past them on a vacation once and noted how ominous they appeared. Even the Apaches thought so as they gave them the name of 'Mountains To Be Left Alone!'

My mom bought a copper bracelet from that area years ago, it had rain symbols on it and EVERY time she wore it, it rained! She had it on one day when it was sunny and hot and Dad and Granddad were kind of playing with her about it, but then a half hour later they had to run inside to avoid a downpour!

I wish I had that bracelet but it had been stolen by some 'baby sitter' :P

Yes, if it says 'Pattern' on the title that means you only get the chart and have to supply the floss and cloth yourself. Only when it mentions 'kit' do you actually get a kit ;)

Hello,

I would try contacting the place you purchased this from to see if they can either contact ArtVentures for you or at least give you their contact information so you can talk to someone about the directions for this design. We sell this design on our website but we do not put colored dots on our bags of floss so it doesn't sound like you purchased this from us?! I would definitely reach out to the place you purchased it from or ArtVentures themselves to see if they can help you with the instructions and such.

The kit came with everything I need except for how to match the floss with each color code and symbol. When it indicates to use pine green/dmc 840, which of the 6 greens in the supplied floss is that? I would have expected the directions to say, for example, 840 is in the blue dot bag and has 10 strands. I always sort the strands per the directions before I start a project.

Hello,

I am sorry but I can't really answer your question because we didn't put your kit or order together. You will have to contact the place you purchased this from and ask them.

Thank you so much.

Sounds like the least stressful thing to do is to buy the thread by referring to the supply list. At least thread is not too expensive compared to other things.

If I was at home I would just crossreference with my own floss supply, but I am on vacation. Good thing Joann's is nearby.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
