size question
Why is the picture displayed on the web site twice as wide as it is high when the measurements given are 28.5 inches by 20.5 inches and stitch count 400 X 286?

The size 400 x 286 = (on 14 or 28 count) would be 28.5"x 14" which is actually a tiny bit bigger than twice as wide as it in long. You are on the right track.

Hi spydirector,

This is our design. The pattern is 400 x 286 in stitches and is approx 28.5 x 20.5 in inches when completed on 14 count. You also need to leave at least an extra 3 inches of fabric all around to assist with framing.

This design can be stitched on any fabric count you like. The higher the count the small the finished design will be.

Please let me know if you have any further queries.

Thanks and Best Wishes

Hi spysdirector. Just to let you know that there are some patterns out there that are wider than they are taller. Stitch counts and measurements begin with the WIDTH dimensions first followed by the height dimensions such as the pattern you are showing. I have a few patterns that are wider than tall because I like to decorate the soffit area of my kitchen and I only have a total height of 12 inches to work with frame and all.
Hope this helps. :)
