Kit?
Is this a kit that includes all the floss and embellishments required to complete the picture, or am I just purchasing the pattern for $14.00?

Hello,

This is just a counted cross stitch pattern and the supplies needed for it would have to be purchased separately. We sell many different products on our website and the best way to tell what a certain product is, is to look at the “Product Type” information that is located to the right of the picture of the product on our website. Below are the categories and an explanation about them.

Product Type: Cross Stitch Patterns - means it's just a counted cross stitch design and the supplies will have to be purchased separately for it. Sometimes, the supplies are listed in the Supply list right underneath the picture of the pattern. So, if you choose, you can purchase the floss and the fabric for the design all at the same time. Or you can purchase just the floss colors that you need based on your stash at home.

Product Type: Cross Stitch Kit - means it's a counted cross stitch kit that comes with everything you will need to stitch that design. The name of the manufacturer for the kit will be given as well, such as Dimensions, Janlynn and Riolis.

Product Type: Stamped Cross Stitch Kit - means it's a stamped cross stitch kit and the fabric has the design already stamped on it. The floss will also be included since it’s a kit.

Product Type: Stamped Stitchable - means it's an item where the fabric has the design stamped on it but the supplies such as the floss and needles, etc...Will have to be purchased separately. This item isn’t a kit and you are just purchasing the fabric that has the design stamped onto it.

Product Type: Stitchable Items – means that these are items that you can actually stitch on. So these items will consist of bibs, towels, bookmarks, tote bags, etc… Designs and floss will have to be purchased separately for these.

Hope this info helps! Thank you.

Barbwire, Have you decided if you will stitch this pattern? The Autumn Angel is so beautiful! I will be starting Blue Moon Angel next year.

Hi, Red. I haven't decided yet. I'm looking for a winter project and these are so beautiful. I do have two little cross stitch patterns I have to finish before I start a new one, though. They're on 18 count Aida fabric and so small that I need to use a lighted magnifying glass to work on them, so it's taking me a long time. Have you done any of these angels? Are the patterns very intricate? I love cross stitch, but my eyes aren't what they used to be.

Hi Barbwire,
What are the two small projects you have to do? I am pushing myself to finish "Sudden Showers," a project that is entering its third year of completion! I love it but am tired of working on it. I have six patterns waiting in the wings to do for some cousins. I'm anxious to begin on those, something new and refreshing.

I have not stitched any of the angels, I think they are full stitches only, but not sure of the intricate details of the pattern. My angel will have to wait until this time next year. I hope to finish at least five of the six patterns I have to do by then. I'm 57 and use a large magnifying glass on almost everything I work on. I agree with you, my eyes aren't what they used to be either. It just makes stitching easier and less stressful.

My larger projects I have mounted on a floor stand I purchased from a company in Canada. I bought the table top version as well. My smaller projects of 5x7 or smaller I still use a hoop or q-snaps. Nebraska winters allow more time to stitch since outdoor activities have gone into hibernation! I love and prefer to listen to classical or Christian music while I stitch. Do you have preference while stitching? Have a great day! Barb

Hi, Red.
I'm 66 and live in Alaska, so I understand about the long, dark winters. I've been working on this project for over 5 years. Like you, I'm bored with it. They're two lighthouse pictures, "The Gold Collection Petites" by Dimensions. The finished size is 5" X 7", and they have a lot of detail... lots of colors and stitches on top of stitches. I keep plugging away and I'll get there eventually. I wasn't able to work on them last winter, and other more pressing projects took precedence over this one. I'm so close to finishing this first picture, just doing the outlining, French knots, etc. Then I have to mount and frame. I can't wait. I have to say they are beautiful, but I don't want to do anything this small again.

I stitch while my husband watches the news and yells at the TV. :-). I feel more productive that way. I also knit and have started a quilt for my son (3 years ago) that I want to finish, too. Ran into a fabric snag on that one. I couldn't find a good border fabric, and then I got a full-time job, so everything came to a halt. It seems that if I work, I have the money for my projects but not the time, and vice versa when I'm not working. Can't win.

What are you working on now?

Hi Barbwire,
I searched the lighthouse patterns and they are very detailed but very lovely! I hope you post them when they're finished. I have two 5x6 patterns I started working on but put them down to finish my current project, "Sudden Showers" by Elsa Williams. The one 5x6 is from Lanarte, a Marjolein Bastin pattern of four bluebirds at a bird feeder. The other small pattern is from Stoney Creek Quote of the Month, August, "may your eyes see the beauty only the heart can understand." These will eventually be displayed in our kitchen. August is our wedding anniversary. They are simple patterns, lacking the very fine details of yours. Every once in a while you have to fit in a quickie to feel like you're accomplishing something!

Once I finish sudden showers I will begin on "Delicate Wicket" by RTO. The size is 9x11.75 and has only 11 colors!!!! It will be a nice switch from the current 33 colors + 10 combination threads. I'm making this one for my cousin who graduated from college in May.

I learned how to knit a couple years ago and really enjoy it. My first project was an afghan using two seperate yarns at the same time. Otherwise, I have made a few dishcloths which are quicker, giving me satisfaction of a completed project. I would like to knit myself a pull over sleeveless sweater with a crew neck. I found a pattern while visiting a knit store in Missouri. They told me it was for beginners so we'll see how truthful that turns out to be! LOL. I'm allergic to the sewing machine so quilting is out of the subject. I have a couple of friends who quilt and produce some very beautiful works. In place of sewing I prefer photography, watercolors, sketching, and reading.

What is your full time job? Do you like it? My husband and I are owners of our trucking company which I am the bookkeeper and dispatcher. Our fleet consists of one, yes just one, truck! :) Dan is a OTR flatbed truck driver.

I guess we have a lot in common. My husband and I also own our own business and I do the books. Small world.

The angels are big but lots of fun to stitch. There are only partial stitches in the faces, the rest are whole stitches. Most of the color stitches are in large blocks, but there is usually a bit with a lot of counting and color changes. The autumn angel is a particular favorite of mine!
