When I am done doing a cross stitch project I press a piece of light weight inner facing on the back to hide the stitches and set them in place. It is very inexpensive and can be gotten at your local sewing store.

On the back of these, you can attach adhesive-backed felt or any material you like. It hides the back if it is hung so that both sides are visible.
