Size
How large is the finished project (in inches/cm)?

Depends on the count fabric you use - typically Heaven and Earth designs are full coverage with only full cross stitches used. On 14 count this design size should be approx 11 3/4 inches by 12 5/8 inches - the larger the count fabric the smaller the picture will be. That is a beautiful design and should be fun to stitch with all those colors.

Hello,

Heaven and Earth Designs are stitched over 1 on 25ct. Linen or Evenweave....color and fabric type of your choice. So your completed size would be: 6" x 7 1/8" on 25ct. Lugana going over 1. Leaving 6 inches of fabric on each side for framing purposes, you would need a fabric piece of 30 1/2 x 31 1/2.

Most designs stitched on Linen fabric are done by going over 2 but Heaven and Earth designs differ and they are done by going over 1. Hope this information helps :) Oh and I used the fabric calculator at the Yarntree website because I think it's pretty awesome.....http://www.yarntree.com/java/xstitchcal.htm :)

Hey Kristi! What am I missing here😁 If the finished design is 6"x71/8" and you add 6 " on each side for finishing, that would require a piece of material 18" x21 3/8". Why 30 1/2 x 31 1/2" ?

Oops again! That is 3" per side for amy framer worth his price (some are not worth a nickel).
So, if the design is 6", then that gets 6" added to it, for 12" and 7 & 1/8" becomes 13 &1/8. Your fabric will need to be just 12" x 13 & 1/8.
I would hate to see you purchase a hue hunk of fanric and then try to work with it for what is a small pattern. Not tiny, just small.

Have fun stitching!

murillome,

I wondered that as well. I had the fabric calculator on the yarntree's website calculate it for me and that's what I gave me...I thought it was weird too though?! Let my enter in everything again and see what happens. I could have honestly put in a different number somewhere....

Okay, so I see what I did!! On that specific calculator it asks you two different things:

Extra fabric on each side for border?

AND

Extra fabric on each side for finishing?

I entered 6 for both sections not reading the second one very clearly because I thought it was the same as the first one and by putting 6 by each of those it gave me a huge fabric piece number! Which actually makes sense for how I entered it.

I am very sorry about confusion and lack of reading on my part!! I did it correctly this time and entered 3 inches for fabric on each side of the border and I left the second entry at zero and it gave me the following:

Stitched area: 6" x 7 1/8"
Fabric size: 12 1/2" x 13 1/2"

Again, I apologize for my error and thank you all so much for correcting this for the original poster :)
