Has anyone tried this?
I've been cross stitching for many years but I still consider myself a beginner. Are all the patterns this large? I'd like to try something small first before tackling anything bigger. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Christina,
The rose pattern information shows that it was done on 14-count fabric "over one" square. You can make the stitched area SMALLER by using a higher count fabric. for example, if you use a 22-count fabric "over one" square, the completed stitched area will be 11 1/2 inches wide by 9 inches tall. Depending how good your eyesight is and/or what type of magnifier equipment you use, you can make this project even smaller by going "over one" on evenweave fabrics of 25-count, 28-count. Because I'm not real good in Math -and because I like to experiment in seeing the different sizes I can make any of my projects- I use the fabric calculator on "crossstitch.com" website which allows me to "play" with the different fabric counts, how many squares to stitch over, how many inches of extra fabric I want to add for mounting and framing and it will give me the "completed project stitch size" AND the size of fabric I need for the project.
If you are looking for smaller, quicker projects to do, I would recommend looking at "Little House Needleworks" and "Lizzie Kate" patterns that are on Everything CrossStitch. They are fun, don't take a long time, and have a variety of themes.
I'm not an employee of ECS, but one of the stitchers that saw your chat. Have fun! :)
