You can stitch any design on whatever fabric you choose to :) You will just have to figure out your sizing dimensions because they will be different than what's posted. It will end up being bigger in finished size since you are wanting to go to 12ct. You also will have to watch your floss amounts. What's listed is for 14ct, so you may end up using more than what is listed for certain colors.

Is there 12 count Aida? I have seen 6, 8 and 11, but not 12.

You can certainly stitch it on whatever count you want. Just keep in mind that the picture will not look the same on a count that big....you will lose some of the details and it will appear very 'pixelated' unless you are standing a fair distance away from the picture.
