Colors......
Can this be done in another color like reds or pinks or yellows with orange?

My initial and this is so pretty. Now I want one and I want another one for my sister.

Thank you,Sherry

There are no rules with what you do with your patterns :) Change the colours, add a border, remove an element you don't like, personalize however you like. I promise that the cross stitch police won't come lock you up!!

Just find colours in the family you would like to use that are similar in shade (as in brightness/darkness) and use those instead.

Thank you for yr reply, I am not good with picking out colors that match or go together. You are so witty, counted cross stitch police............LOL.

Just remember to select your colors that are the same color value as the ones you are replacing. If you want to replace the blue with yellow, fine, but make sure they are not darker or lighter than the ones you are replacing.

Hi Diana:

Thank you for the info yet what is same color value? Do you mean that if I replace blue with yellow it has to be the same shade? Being somewhat color blind and I use counted cross stitch colors by numbers, I think I am going to have a hard time transferring colors from on to another with out the numbers......my loss.

Again Thank You for sharing with me.

Maybe use a variegated or an overdyed (similar to variegated) thread. Caron has some very nice colours. They are, however, more expensive than the regular DMC floss.

Be careful when using overdyes and silks. Many are not colorfast.
