Thank You, Thank You, Thank You
Thank you for the compliments on my simple little projects. I stood and bowed. Seriously, you all know that I have very little time to stitch so I pick things that I can finish before the grim reaper comes acalling. I have several more but they are too dinky to post. Little seasonal stuff. I am way behind on the framing since our local shop was in transition after the original owners passed away.
You are all too kind. Thanks again.

Texas, I looked at the other pics you posted. You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work. I actually think (especially if we are going through things that are stressful) that stitching is "therapy.!

Thanks, jersey. I totally agree. I look forward to the few moments that I have to stitch. For me it's all about the stitching and the calm that comes over me. If it turns out well, all the better! LOLOL

Gotta run. It's DH's birthday today, the old boy is 74. I have to help him with his shower, well with the life vest and the installer is coming between 10 and 2:30. All this waiting around gets on my nerves. I have things to do.

Hi, Tex! Be sure to let us know about how the framing went...and pricing. DD was up-in-arms because they offered to order her a floss they didn't carry and then charged her over twice the regular price she would paid if she had ordered on here...with s&h. She should have discussed what was so pricey about it, but she had bought me some lotion, a pattern, and and was in a hurry, blah, blah, blah...didn't even look at what she was charged, just signed and ran. She's old enough to know better, should have fully discussed what she was paying for, but it spoiled her trip to the shop. When I was last there, the gal was kind of scatter-brained, wasn't sure of prices, how to figure mark-up, how to work the card machine...just generally flustered...and not what I was used to...but I just thought it was someone there to fill in...DD did say it wasn't the same gal...but now, I wonder. Time will tell, I guess! :) My last comment on the subject was what was that thing that had-grown -to- her - hand - from-use- so- that - she - had- to - snip - the roots - when - she - got - the - new - one...What was it for if not to communicate information. Does your DD roll her eyes like a teen? :)

V, I think most of us operate on auto pilot these days. My new cooktop got installed yesterday. I had to pay an additional $250 in the even that the opening would have to be enlarged by 1/8 inch. I was really sweating that one because I was worried about my countertop getting ruined and the mess. He told me that it was very messy, dust everywhere. Well the thing fit without modifications. I asked him how my 250 would be refunded and he thanked me for reminding him about that. He would annotate it on paperwork and Lowe's would credit my card back. He had been gone for 20 minutes before I realized that he never gave me a copy of the paperwork. I called him and he assured me that I didn't need a copy. So, long story short end, all I can do now is place my trust in the system. I'm calling my go to sales woman on Monday. I also mentioned it to the person that called today and asked how my install went. I do what your DD did a lot. I don't pay attention, I just sign. I have to work on that one.
The folks are so slow there and usually wait on 2 or 3 customers at once that all one wants is to pay and get out!
I order as much as I can from Amazon so I don't have to go to shops but am getting annoyed with all the deliveries now. The doorbell rings constantly. Well that's an exaggeration but it rings often. Then on trash days I have to dispose of all the packing material. Our deliveries are supposed to be made by drones soon. I wonder how that one will work. I hope the drone won't drop it on my roof or on my plants! :)
There is no perfect solution for old folks.

Trust in the system? Good one! LOL!

Drones for deliveries? Not available in our area, yet...am I correct that they use parachutes? But what if it's windy? You know, it IS Texas! LOL. Who has to retrieve those packages that land on the roof? :) Do we have a choice of delivery? I don't think I want to be one of the "test cases". :)

These are all questions they'll address after the drones are ready to go! Yes, according to the news report they will be using parachutes. In the event that packages are dropped in the wrong location, I only surmise that Amazon will have to do a lot of replacing.

You are too funny!

Oh, V, I know that my little GD loves me. She told her mother that she wanted to learn how to knit so she could knit pants for me and a matching sweater. I don't exactly have a figure any longer suitable for knit pants. How sweet. I so wish that my very good friend were still with us so I could share this one with him. He owned a yarn shop and also sold beautiful embroidery items. We had a running joke about knit pants for me. :)

Tex, your GD is wiser than you give her credit! The wisest thing we do at our age is what we want to do! Built for stretch pants, or not! And throat punch the nay-sayers!!!!

VCESS, excellent advice. I'm thinking of wearing a really long top with them. I hope that DD can steer her towards a dark color. The point might be moot, she has to learn how to knit first. I don't see it happening any time soon. Right now she is working on learning how to shoot an arrow - in the house.

DD is cooking tonight and I am using my time wisely by responding to all the posts I received over the last few days.
