Hello,

The chart itself will be in black and white with symbols. There are very few designs that use color in their charts these days due to the high cost of printing in color. Majority of them now will be in black and white. A lot of stitchers make a working copy of the design they are stitching and on that working copy, they will highlight areas and make notes on it and use that one to work off of, while keeping the original design intact and for future use.
