The floss and the fabric that are listed under the picture of the pattern are the items that you need to stitch the design shown. If you need other items such as needles or hoops, etc. those items are available on our website but on a different page. The finished size of the design is listed to the right of the picture of the design, right above the price. It's 10.2" x 7.1" on 28cnt (over 2). If you decide to change your fabric count and not use the 28ct. fabric as suggested, then your finished dimensions will be different (but if you use a 14ct. fabric, they stay the same because you will stitch over 1 on that fabric instead of 2) As far as a frame or a mat, what you choose for those would be completely up to you once the design is completed :)

I am not sure if this is a good for a beginner or not? There may be specialty stitches involved in this but I an not 100% sure. You can definitely give it a try though!! When I started out, I started with a small Learn A Craft kit made by Dimensions. It was fairly easy to do and really good to learn on for the first time.
