Fabric
I see that it is recommended to use the 14ct Aida and it makes a 21 x 25 finished pattern. What would be the size if I went with an 18ct, I need to add the Alphabet around the edge. I don't want it to get too large.

On 18 count fabric, going "over one", your completed stitched area will be
16 3/4 inches wide x 20 3/4 inches high. If you add an extra 3 inches fabric each side for mounting and framing, you will need an 18-count fabric that is 23 inches wide x 27 inches high.
Are you are adding an alphabet around the edge of your own choosing and is NOT part of the design?
OR is the alphabet you are putting around the edge part of the 300 x 375 stitch count??

OK, what am I doing wrong? I got 16.33 x 19.44....as the size of the design...adding 6 to width and length, 22.33" x 25.44"...Darn Altzheimers! :)

Well, for one thing, I started with 294x350 stitches! Didn't look at the page for stitch count, took poster's statement...that'll teach me! :)

Bermuda! The Alphabet is not part of the design, I have to add it and each letter is about 1.25 inches in height, that is why I thought if I went to the 18ct I would end up with a total design about the same as the original .... let me know if this changes your estimate. Thx

Are you carrying the alphabet around all 4 sides of the pattern? Or just 3 sides of pattern? Or one side?
Let me know so I can try to help. ALSO, you need to consider if there is going to be SPACE between the bottom of the letters of the alphabet and the FINISHED edges of the pattern. If there is going to be space, then you will need to allow for that; it's Not going to be difficult in that respect because you will just need to order a larger piece of fabric to fit the pattern and the alphabet.
If you are starting to get flustered, don't worry. It will just take a bit of figuring out. I need to know about how you are setting the alphabet up and spacing, if any, between pattern and bottom of alphabet letters.
Right now, 1.25 inches (which is 1 1/4 inches) needs to be added to the pattern for the alphabet, but does this need to be added to all 4 sides, just 3 sides, 2 sides or 1 side of the pattern?
