Aw, ladyj, treat yourself to a pattern or two. Nobody says that you have to stitch them. If you like the motif that much than it might just be fun to pull the pattern out from time to time and look at it (them). It's what I do. I should have paid closer attention to my age when I made my purchases. Who cares. we all have our little weak points. Some drink, smoke, gamble or worse and we buy a pattern or fifty.
I buy whatever I feel like these days. I order movies for DH whenever I think he might be interested. Who cares we can't take it with us.

Years ago I saw an Afghan that had the "Lighthouses of the East Coast" cross stitched in each of the Afghan "panels". It was gorgeous! I see ECS has the pattern book.

I also liked lighthouses and bought a few patterns that I have donated many years ago. I was into state flowers and still have a pattern. Living in landlocked areas or far from real water sort of takes the fun away from lighthouses. Interesting how our tastes change with time and skill level.

We have a large lake nearby but it's just not the same as the ocean.
