Sticking it Out
Regarding the project noted on the subject line, I noticed when looking at the supplies needed the floss is $2.19 ea. What kind floss is this? How important is it to use the recomended floss as opposed to my regular floss?

I have never used anything but DMC products. This is going to be scary🤔.

Thanks for you response & bst2u.

Patricia, you can use DMC. I have never seen a pattern that does not list a DMC substitution.
Gentle Art is a variegated floss and is not color fast. It does get expensive. I just finished a project that recommended overdyes and I only had to stitch like 5 or 7 stitched with one color. What a waste. It does look nice but I have done the same pattern with DMC and thought that it looked just as attractive. When you use these variegated products you are supposed to complete one stitch at a time. I think that's the Danish method or English. I always get it confused. I did a very large project and got so used to stitching in this way that I even do with DMC now.
If the pattern doesn't have a conversion list then you can go online. There are conversion charts for everything. Just Google.

Thanks, Patricia, hugs are always welcome. Especially after my husband stuck his head around the corner and scared me half to death! All to ask a silly question! :)
Very cute pattern.
