Karen, can't wait to see it all framed up. That is a cute pattern and I too use the beads instead of French Knots trick. Never could do a French Knot!!!

I love this pattern and think I put it in my wish list. It has gotten so big I am not sure but will check! I have never worked with beads but find french knots to be difficult. Always seems like I either pull to hard and knot goes through or don't wrap enough times around needle to make knot big enough. Beads would put an end to that nonsense!

I guess I'm the only person who loves making French knots! I once did hundreds on a doll dress because I liked the effect so much.

JSimonPurple,

They do have a nice effect! Wish I lived closer and you could teach me how to do them!

I wish I lived close enough to visit, too. Honestly, I wish I lived closer to anyone, lol. I live on an Indian reservation in the Arizona desert. I'm not Indian! My partner is a nurse at an Indian health center. We have really nice employee housing. I'm really comfortable and really enjoy the weather. I love where I'm living. I have enough money for what I enjoy and my partner encourages me. He walks home for lunch everyday! I'm only a people-person online, and most of the time I enjoy the solitude. I can go a whole day only seeing Charles, and most of the time, that's just to my liking. But sometimes, a few sometimes, I wish I had someone to craft and chat with in person.

Hey jsimonpurple,
You have the best of both worlds. You have your friends here on the "chat" board and you have your partner to share your love for peace and quiet in your natural surroundings! :)

Bermuda, you are absolutely right!

This is such a cute picture! I don't mind doing French knots...however...I will admit that using beads instead has me "intrigued" because there is more "substance" to a bead (I think..) and I am wondering how different something actually looks when one does that....??

Jason -- have you considered teaching members of the community stitching or knitting?

jsimon, I think you are a very lucky person!! We live between Philadelphia and Atlantic City...about one hour north of Cape May. Don't get me wrong, there are stunningly beautiful areas here around the rivers, the shore, the light houses, etc....however....there is so much traffic there is "very little" peace. I would love to be in your environment. I think it would be "as right as rain". We are always glad to hear from you and admire your work so much. So....always feel free to let us know what is going on with you. I absolutely can't wait until I see one of these angels framed! Can't wait.....
