Hi,
There is a 25-count EVENWEAVE fabric called Lugana. So go to the title "cross Stitch Fabric" in the box to your left under the "search" button and tap on it. You will get another box that shows different names of fabric and tap on the word "Lugana" and you will find the 25-count Lugana there.
Just an FYI- there is another evenweave fabric that is Jobelan and that is usually found as a 28-count evenweave fabric. I use a lot of the evenweave fabrics because the horizontal and vertical strands of the evenweave fabrics are the same size in diameter, which I think gives more consistently sized X's and the evenweaves do not have the "nubs" that some linen fabrics contain. Most of my medium to extra large projects are stitched on 25-count or 28-count evenweave.

ty!!!! I'm assuming the entire piece is stitched....what do you think I should use for the colr of the fabric? would you go dark?

I would suggest that you think about how you are going to frame this pattern when it completed AND where are you going to hang it. In the living room, bedroom, dining room? AND are you going to have a lot of the 25-evenweave fabric showing or are you going to add matting? I would suggest you choose an evenweave color that will complement the pattern and have a neutral color if you want to move the finished framed pattern into other rooms. I use a lot of "Antique white" which is a " muted' white, not a bright white. You might also want to look at ivory or bone colors, but again, how do you want this finished pattern to look when you complete it and if you are going to let the fabric show around the pattern.
I'm not an employee of ECS, but a stitcher that saw your "chat" question. In the end, YOU want to determine how the final project looks. :)

This pattern model is stitched on 25-count fabric "over 2". Have you worked "over 2" before?
Oh, and to answer your question- I personally would not stitch the pattern on Black fabric just because stitching on black is not necessarily the easiest thing to do, plus you have black and lots of other colors in the pattern.
Another idea would be to look at some of the colors already in the pattern itself for a background color, but again I lean toward more neutral colors that will allow the pattern to stand out.
There are other stitchers with a lot of experience that can give you other ideas and their thoughts.
I just noticed there is a dark red outiside edge to the pattern that you might want to consider when choosing the color.
Important that you make sure you order a large enough piece of fabric. Many people like to add an extra 2 inches of Extra fabric on EACH Side of the fabric; I personally order 3- inches extra fabric to each side to give me the choice of matting or not matting and what size Frame I would like.
It is a gorgeous pattern...

I've stitched on linen before.....close to finishing a sampler now.....I had stopped for a number of years, just getting back into it.....because it's so dramatic, I thought maybe not showing any fabric in the framing....not sure....i'm very grateful for your help!!

The most important thing is to do it with the type and color of Fabric. YOU the stitcher wants. It is your project and it should be how you want it to look. Linen is gorgeous and if you want to do it on linen, it will look fabulous!!!! Good luck and most of all have fun and enjoy it!!!

I didn't know there was a series of these, deirdre!

i'm sorry if I sound like a dummy, but what's the difference between linen and evenweave? like I said, it's been about 10 years since I stitched, other than the sampler i'm working on now....lol...I thought there was Aida or linen

The fabric strands horizontally and vertically on some linens are not exactly the same size (diameter); you may have strands that are a little thinner or thicker than other strands. On evenweaves, the vertical and horizontal strands of the fabric are all the same diameter.
