Stamp
Hi there - I've not tried a stamped kit before, but saw one today a woman was working on and thought I'd try it. Before I purchased a kit, I wanted to know if once the project is completed and washed, does the "stamped ink" wash out?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Yes the ink will wash out after you finish the project.

I have found that after years of doing counted cross stitch I can not work on stamped. You can not achieve the beautiful details that you can create with counted.

I agree, Maggionthebeach! I used to do stamped cross stitch years ago and then one day decided to teach myself counted and have been doing it ever since. I like how the finished piece looks like a picture because the stitches are closer together!

I have done both count cross stitch and embroidery for years also. Each has their own unique beauty.

Thanks for your reply!

I love x-stitch and have done it for years....but the old eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be! :)

The stamped baby quilt that caught my eye reminded me of work my grandmother did on my mother's quilt, and I thought I would give it a try.

Creativity knows no limits~

njoylife50,
I did a stamped baby quilt for my son years ago, who is now 20. It had a matching bureau scarf. I have it put away for him for when he has kids. They are easier to see and do turn out nice. As other stitchers here have said each technique has its own beauty!
Happy Stitching!
