The Winds of Change
Posted By:    ladyj117
Hope everyone had a blessed Easter! Yesterday was so beautiful in my neck of the woods. My daughter served the 7:30 am mass and although hard to get up that early (we usually go to 5:00 sat. mass) it was nice having all of the morning to enjoy. The sun was shining but it did turn very, very windy in the late afternoon. So much so, that my deck table got knocked over and shattered. The umbrella was just put back up because we were going to eat Easter Sunday dinner on the deck. Not realizing it was quite that windy! At least earlier that day I got to sit out on the deck and do some stitching! Worked on a seashell/lighthouse piece. At this time of year, I like to work on spring/summer related pieces. But of course, I am still working on anniversary piece. Really need to get that done!

I envy you lady. I've never managed to be able to stitch outside.....too much sun, too little sun, a pesky breeze....well there's always something, so I set aside out door time to just chill.

So sorry to hear about your table. It was beautiful here in northern Ohio, but oh how the wind did blow! !
Didn't get any stitching done.... Got up at 7 for 8am Mass and then set about getting ready to feed 13 people. Kind of tired in the pm! Hope the nice weather lasts. Happy stitching, Linda

I had a wonderfully lazy day at home. Didn't do much at all, and I really enjoyed it for a change. I always feel like I must be doing something every moment of day, but yesterday was free of obligation.

So glad you had a lovely Easter, Jacquie. Mine was busy but very nice. And the weather here in North Carolina was picture perfect!

Blue Jay,
Where in NC do you live? I am looking to book a vacation house on the beach in the Outer Banks next summer! My husband and I have been there but want to take the kids ( Well adult kids) after the last one graduates high school in June 2018!

Hi Jacquie,

I live in Charlotte, far away from the coast. And, unfortunately, I am not the best person to ask, as I have never been to the Outer Banks, and am a transplant from New England ten years ago. Maybe a local Realtor or a local Chamber of Commerce would have better suggestions. Please let me know how it goes. 😃

And please have fun on your vacation, Jacquie. Congratulations on your youngest graduating high school. 🎓 It's amazing how fast the time goes by, isn't it? First they were babies and the next thing you know...

Blue Jay,
Thanks so much. Yes they do grow up fast. I can't believe she will be 17 on Sunday. Graduation is actually next year 2018. The Outer Banks trip is long range planning but I figured I better start saving now.

Even if its a long way off I really enjoy the planning parts of anything.

I do agree with Mary. The planning part is fun too. I am sorry I am not able to be of more help. I used to live 20 minutes from the ocean in Mass. Gloucester and Rockport were right up the road. And, yes - Manchester By The Sea, too.

And we had an actual lake in the center of my town. You could walk around it in 45 minutes. I never realized what a treasure it was until I left. These days, being landlocked, it's not easy. I miss the water. Just think of all you have to look forward to! What fun!

We live 3 minutes from the sea so walks by the shore are pretty well a daily occurance and believe me I count my blessings. I like my walks to be early in the morning ( around 7am). You get to know the early people and their dogs and in my opinion there is something really special about the morning air.

Agreed, Mary. What a wonderful place to live!
