Where do you work?
I have always worked on the kitchen table. Since I live alone that is no problem. I eat all my meals in the living room and all my sewing in the kitchen. I tried working off stands but the several I tried were too flimsy. I had a square table and laid my pattern on the left my frame in the middle and my tools on the right all side by side. Now have a round table and can't do this. Guess I will have to find a small square table and work in the living room though I see trouble coming with tv on.

I do my cross stitching in the family room sitting in the recliner watching TV. I have my pattern on the table to the right of me. It is on a stand and I use those magnetic strips to keep track of where I am.

Listen to music instead. I cannot watch TV and stitch, it is too distracting. I have also noticed that my eyes don't adjust as quickly. Sounds like buyer's remorse, eagle1! :) Happens to me all the time. Hope you can come up with a solution.
I sit in my bedroom because the light is good. I have three windows to my left, along with my Ott Light. I like to sit in my recliner because I LOVE putting my feet up. I wish that I had bought a slightly larger table to hold my supplies but as a whole it works. I'm too lazy to load my CD player, so I listen to SIRIUS radio. I know, I know, CDs are out but I am not downloading/streaming or whatever it's called, music. I love classical music and can play my CDs over and over.

I stitch in my TV room. I sit on a two seater sofa with a little IKEA table on wheels in front of me, so lots of space for "stuff". I have two east windows and a good floor lamp with two moveable lamps on it that I can adjust in strength. I use hoops.
I always have the TV on but don't watch it. The news is good company or talk shows.

I sit on my couch in the living room and watch cross-stitch videos. LOL. I use embroidery hoops. I've got a lamp that shines directly on my work and my pattern, yes I use paper patterns. I have my project bin with the floss on one side of me and scissors, needle minders and needle threader on the arm of the couch. I also have a small plastic tub where I keep ends of thread that are too short. When the tub gets full I dump it into a real trash can haha.

I stitch in the family room but my kids and hubby call it "Mommy's room" because pretty much I am the only one who uses it except for my one daughter who sits and watches The Big Bang Theory or The Middle with me. I sit in a rocking chair and have a table next to me that hold my supplies. I have a floor lamp that I use that has a goose neck lamp that I can bring down close to my stitching. Dogs are usually in there with me too! I like to put in movies and I also love The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie! Also, stitch in my car on lunch break usually listening to a book of my cd player.

Wherever I can plant my uh-huh and s p r e a d o u t with a good light, the Kindle with earplugs--audiobooks/music/baseball, and some sort of tea/coffee, and as a last resort, water...the cats, too, of course. They think they are the most important of stitching accoutrements...and so they are. :)

I have two locations--depends on the season--live in NE Ohio--our TV room(winter season) enclosed front porch(other seasons) In either location I use a scroll floor frame, an old metal wheeled shopping cart I fitted with a wooden shelf/table for my pattern secured to large Lorain metal board via magnetic strips--my threads are in the recloseable plastic bags if on plastic bobbins I put my threaded needle in it, in a basket that allows them to "stand up" for easy access, my needles are in a cleverdivice my wife picked up at a craft show--a 4" square ceramic tile covered in material (one side) and a "pillow" for needles, it also has this little pouch attached with Velcro that hangs off the tile to put the other needed stitching items. all of which is on the "table shelf" Yea I'm a bit OC D!!!!!!

Right now I stitch in my recliner with all my stuff in baggies. I tend to not be very organized with how I place my stuff as I am always looking for something....lol I also have the TV on and usually a cat somewhere on my lap or on my stuff since everything is theirs...lol We are moving to a new house this summer so I am hoping to get a rocking love seat and stitch there for more room.

Happy Stitching.

It depends on the size of the project. For little ones up to 12x14 I use a hoop that I can easily hold, and for those I am on the couch, in the car while my daughters are at dance, or sometimes I take it to work and stitch on breaks. For bigger ones, I have a table top hoop and I sit at the kitchen table where there is lots of space, good light, hot coffee readily at hand, and of course my favorite stitching assistant, my big gray cat Nero to lay on my bag of floss and supplies.

Lol... I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who stitches at work and my favorite place is in the car while waiting on the kids, it's the quietest and brightest place I know!! Yah I'm that obsessed with it:)
