Need some opinions
Hi. I have started a project 3 times that has lots of red and black in it. I have used white aida cloth in 14 & 18 count but the white always shows through. Can anyone suggest what color and count I should be using for this project so that I can finally get it done?

It's okay for a little white to show through. I think it happens to most of us but if you are unhappy with the look then try using 3 strands of floss instead of two. I have also noticed that I get better coverage when I use Anchor black. Do a little swatch and see how it turns out.

When stitching you are too close...You can't see what it really looks like till you stand back...LOL...much like life! Stand back a bit and take another look at those projects already started. They may look a lot better to you. :)

I had that trouble once, and used black aida. Never again. Too hard on my eyes. I don't like using three strands and yes, standing back is what you need to do. But then picky me.... I've sort of solved the problem, if your stitching will be covering the whole picture. Instead of white aida, I buy the off-white, even the beige colored aida, so the brightness doesn't show through. And right now I'm stitching on gray aida because the picture has mostly different shades of gray as the large background-- it's a winter scene of a woodpecker.

Adele, aren't you the clever one. Great idea!

I'm so far behind on the chat and everything else in my life. I had hoped to get caught up today and tomorrow but it doesn't look that way. So now I'm working my way back on the chat!

I ordered a Nora Corbett pattern from the Pixie series. It's the Lily of the Valley one. So cute. I have to order the embellishments yet from ECS and the floss, don't have the time to go through my stash. So now my dilemma is which to work first, Enchanted Alphabet, the Pixie or continue with the Silver Lining rose. I don't even have time to stitch right now, so why am I making these fanciful plans?

The weather has been absolutely delightful yesterday and today - breezy and relatively cool.

Some crazy man from El Paso drove an 18 wheeler from Ft Worth at 100 mph on the interstate with the cops in hot pursuit. He finally crashed in Arlington. He damaged five other cars. No one was seriously hurt. They had SWAT teams out - big show here.

Texas Stitcher, saw about the guy driving the truck at 100mph on the news. Have they figured out why he did it? Not far from where I lived in Pennsylvania a young man blocked the doors of a grocery store and then shot 3 of his co-workers before shooting himself. They have yet to figure out why he killed his co-workers. So many sad things happening. We're on the road heading back to Pennsylvania and should arrive in the Hershey area tomorrow afternoon. Then it's off to our daughter's about 40 miles north of Philadelphia to spend the summer. Take care and have a good summer.

Have a safe trip to your daughters place micolochick. Enjoy the summer! It was suppose to be 90 degrees but the weather forecasters changed it by reducing it a few degrees here in Ohio.

After washing and steam ironing my projects, the aida usually shrinks a little, but the threads don't seem to. So the threads pop out a bit and the project seems more solid. I learned how to do this on a youtube video...try looking it up. Also, you could ask the framer to back your work with black paper. You said you have already stitched a bit on this work? You might want to experiment and see how it would look. Of course, you wouldn't want to continue stitching on the shrunken steam ironed aida.

No, mico, no reason so far. His face looked bloody, so he must have injured himself when he crashed. At first they thought that he had stolen the truck and that it was a female driver. Probably drunk or high, who knows. Yes, there is a lot of terrible stuff happening. All these work related shootings are scary. Road rage and fake cops is a big things as well. They haven't given a reason as to why these people become "fake cops". Maybe in response to fake news? LOL
Be safe out there and enjoy your summer with your family.
What are you working on?
