Hello,

Is this fabric for a specific design? In order to figure out your dimensions for your fabric piece, I will need the sizing dimensions for your design. Do you have the stitch count for the pattern and does the pattern state if the design is stitched on 25ct over 1?

I bought a PDF cross stitch that showed finished Design Size 350 W by 959 H (14 W X 38-1/4 H inches on 25ct fabric). They recommend the design on 25 count Linen. using 2 strands of cotton over one in each case

**Edited this post since my original calculations were incorrect. I sincerely apologize for that to JIAQUI. I entered the number 6 twice on the "extra fabric" sections of the calculator and therefore I got the wrong dimensions for you. I have edited my post for you so the calculations should be correct and I still stuck with the 6 inches around the border**

Hello,

I forgot to ask how many inches you would like around the border. Some stitchers like 3 and some like 6 so I just did 6 inches around because that's what I usually leave for framing purposes. Here are your dimensions:

The stitched area will be 14" wide by 38 3/8" high. The fabric should be 26" wide by 50 1/2" high.

I used the Fabric Calculator that is available at the Yarn Tree's website. It's very helpful when using linen. You just enter in all of your dimensions and it will calculate it all for you. Here is the link for it, if you would like to try it yourself and/or change your border inches to something different:

Hope this helps!

Wow...Kristi, 62" !! that seems excessive ??? A 3" allowance per side is generally more than enough for framing. That would only be a piece 20" x 44".

She added the 6" border, twice...adding 24" total to width and the same to length...obviously, you better be careful with these auto-calculating things...they don't "think", they just add whatever numbers you put in! LOL ...but you'll have plenty for framing... LOL.

:) Kristi, Yarn Tree just put a dent in your halo...Hahahahaha. :)

Take it easy, folks...It's a JOKE! Saint Kristi can take it! :)

I did enter the number 6 twice....yikes!! That's what I get for trying to do something in a hurry, lol! I apologize for my error to the original poster :(

And you're right, those online calculators can be tricky and I just went right along and filled out all of the boxes there, lol! Again, that's what I get for trying to be quick at something, lol!

Thank you guys so much for correcting this for me and for the original poster :) Much appreciated!!
