internet chart vs. mail order chart
Hello, I ordered and printed the internet chart (all 27 or 28 pages). (Edinburgh Castle) I'm wondering if I order the leaflet and have it mailed, if it will be several sheets as opposed to the one I ordered and printed out myself. Thank you.

Hello,

The way a design prints out is set by the designer so usually the pattern files are the same across the board. So more than likely the printouts will be the exact same.

Vcess, it may have been an Artecy chart and there are others who sell pdf charts this way as well on other websites. They do not sell printable versions here at Everything, but I have seen them sold this way elsewhere on the internet. My personal preference is to purchase them printed and mailed from Everything because the large at least 20 to 30+ page charts deplete expensive printer cartridges very rapidly (at least my older printer cartridges I have found this to be the case) as well as the cost of the amount of paper needed to print them. I have always done well with buying those larger charts here and having them mailed to me.

Thanks, lb! ECS has made so many website changes, I just wondered if I had missed some kind of announcement. 😄 I have to agree about the cost and personal printers, but I sort of like having the pattern on my Kindle. I did a small project with a pattern from Just Cross Stitch and it is so easy to enlarge...but my device limits being able to mark my place on the pattern...doubt I would tackle anything fair-sized...the more complicated, my eyes play tricks and everyday becomes Halloween and April Fool! 😄

Vcess you're too funny and my vision is the same way playing tricks on me especially when I'm tired. I have learned the hard way that I must put my project to bed when I'm overtired. I have made more mistakes when I'm overtired, and will no longer go anywhere near my stitching when I feel that way. You made me second guess myself too because of all of the updates and website changes here, but I do not see anything in my emails about a change like buying and printing on your own from a PDF file. I also just added the cost of paper to print these large charts to my prior post. All things considered, I feel it's a pay now or pay later situation and just feel for me, it's more cost effective to pay now and know it's all included chart, printing, paper - DONE!

I would think it would be difficult to work from a chart on your Kindle screen (I do not have one) and see all you need to of the entire chart without the print being too small and also feeling like you know where you are on the chart. I tend to be strictly old school with paper charts, paper books, etc. Having our home pc and a basic cell phone is all I need.

Lb, you're absolutely right about patterns of anything large on a Kindle. I was doing a bird only for a very small patch...but the zoom is extraordinary on this thing! Sometimes I'm pretty adaptable, other times I'm hopeless... It would depend on the pattern whether I try again...but I would have the magazine right there, too...in case. 😄 Might be handy if I have to go to the hospital for a length of time, but I don't usually travel with x-stitch...too much "accoutrements". 😄
