A Way to cover a "Mighty Bright" LED light magnifier lens
I can't lay claim to the idea, DH discovered it. I have a Mighty Bright light magnifier and, as instructions on most magnifiers state, you should keep the lens covered and out of direct sunlight to prevent starting a fire.
Well, Crown Royal Whiskey (Canadian blend whiskey)to the rescue!!! We bought the 1 liter size and the bottle inside the box has a purple (with gold trim) fabric cover with a pull cord that fits nicely over my magnifier!
So use the cover, and have a 'nip' of Crown Royal when you realize you're going to have to frog out a section of your evening's stitching.
I am NOT an employee or have been paid by Crown Royal
Whiskey to advertise their name or product. :)

I think that I will try that! I don't drInk, but with my allegedly repair of my wrist being painful and crooked, it sounds like a very viable solution!

I don't drink Crown..long story... but I'm a big fan of those bags! I've wagged one around since the 60's! Great to help organize a diaper bag...or daubers for ladies night bingo...looonng time ago. 😄 SinL tried to "borrow" one to keep her rainhats in her car...only time I got hateful with her...she emptied my sons cars out of it and then grinned about it! 😠 Not cute.

Years ago, way too many to say, when I first got my Viking sewing machine, (let's put it this way, it was the top of the line at the time, the year before the computerized ones came out), i was taking classes with it. One of the classes, was on monagraming on towels. I did one on a hand towell. I came across that towell after I bought my floor OTT light with the magnifyer. I just stitched the sides together, & it slides right over the magnifyer.

Being a person who tends not to read instructions, I didn't have my magnifying lamp covered. I was doing some stitching one day, not using the lamp, and I kept seeing something out of the corner of my eye. Turned out it was a small bit of smoke, coming from the edge of the table. I now have a cover on it! I'm currently using a Vera Bradley travel bag, I think it was originally intended for shoes...(I really should start reading instructions or I might be tempted to use my hairdryer in the shower.)
Now I'm thinking I would like to stitch a cover for it, or maybe two. Do a fall/ winter, and spring/ summer...do one season on each side, then just flip it over when the seasons change.
Just one more thing to add to my list.

Sue Pitt,
Don't make the same mistake I did and drink some Crown Royale BEFORE I started stitching....

Wow! What a great idea! NEVER would have thought of that solution! Of course, I also didn't know about covering it either!

Ta ta! I'm off to the liquor store!
