2 Pages Pattern Help
Hi everybody,

I'm very new to the cross stitch world and my mum did a few many years ago so we've been trying to work this out together but to no avail.

I have a fairly small cross stitch pattern which has 2 pages but we can't figure out why it has a second page. The only difference on the second page is that the back stitches are represented as thin black lines whereas they are represented with 3 different varieties of lines on the first page (one thick, one thin and one double).

I've googled all morning but can't find an answer which is making me think it's something really obvious or simple!

Thanks for any help

Hi, I am not sure, but it could be that page 2 shows thinner lines so you can more easily read the cross stitch codes underneath the backstitch. On the first page, some is quite thick and might be difficult to figure the codes underneath the backstitch. Hope this helps.

I agree with jmirz. It seems the lines are thinner so you can see the symbols more clearly.

First of all welcome to the wonderful world of stitching! To me it looks like they made the lines on page one different then page two so you can see which color floss to use. I looked at the key and the different lines are under different symbols to indicate that is the color to use. I would look at the picture if you have one and see if the outline colors are different or maybe similar but slightly lighter in some areas. I have a pattern that is like this and that is what I figured out but I could be wrong.
Happy stitching. ☺

Hi KatAlice,
You received part of the answer from one person, but the different types of back stitching line could also indicates to use 1 or 2 treads to use to back stitch w/ or a blending of 2 different color of threads to use to back stitch w/ or a different type of thread to back stitch w/ like a metallic thread. I hope this helps you. But as stated before by someone read your directions if you have them.
